BuildingEnergy magazine is curated, authored, and peer-reviewed by members of the NESEA community. The magazine is distributed to event attendees, sponsors, and partners, and all NESEA Members receive the magazine as a member benefit. Copies are available at NESEA events throughout the year.

Depending on length, we are able to include between six and eight articles per issue. Proposals for articles will be evaluated by the Editorial Committee, an open committee comprised of members and staff.  For consideration for the next issue of the magazine, submissions are due by Tuesday, April 30, 2019. We will contact individuals who have submitted proposals in early to mid-May regarding the status of their submissions. Articles will be due in early July, and the magazine will ship in September.

The theme for the 2019 magazine has yet to be determined; it will emerge as the Editorial Committee looks for common threads across submissions.

Articles will be chosen based on content, fit, and theme. If you are interested in participating in the process by contributing as an author, we'd like to hear from you. As a reminder, editorial content must be vendor-neutral and commercial-free.

If you have any questions about your proposal or the process, please reach out to Florence, NESEA Program Manager, at fmacgregor@nesea.org.

Most articles that appear in BuildingEnergy magazine, such as case studies, are peer-reviewed. If your article is likely to require peer review (if it is more data-driven than opinion or op-ed), do you have any suggestions for people who might serve as peer reviewers? If so, please provide their names and contact information (if available). If you don't have suggestions, feel free to skip this question.
