The mission of Unity Homes is to improve lives by transforming homebuilding for the
benefit of all. Unity does this by using innovative methods to design and build homes that are healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient. Established in 2012 as a spinoff from Bensonwood, Unity represents the culmination of 40 years of experience using off-site fabrication to build high quality homes.

Position Summary
Unity’s Design Director works closely with Unity’s clients, design team, sales team and project managers to oversee the creation of home designs that address the site, programmatic and budgetary needs of Unity’s clients. The designs are developed within Unity’s flexible system of design platforms and pre-engineered building components. In addition to overseeing the design effort for individual projects, the Design Director leads the development of the standards, components, styles and example plans that make up Unity’s design system.

The Design Director is a member of Unity’s management team, and reports to the Operations Director. This full-time (40-45 hours per week) role is based in Unity’s Walpole, NH office, and may include occasional travel.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
At least 5 years of experience practicing architectural design
Architecture license preferred
CAD proficient
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects
Experience leading high-performing teams

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range is $65,000 to $75,000
