The mission of Unity Homes is to improve lives by transforming homebuilding for the benefit of all. Unity does this by using innovative methods to design and build homes that are healthy, comfortable, and energy efficient. Established in 2012 as a spinoff from Bensonwood, Unity represents the culmination of 40 years of experience using off-site fabrication to build high quality homes. 

Position Summary
The Unity Designer develops and documents Unity Home designs in collaboration with Unity’s design team, project managers, sales team and clients. The plans are developed within Unity’s flexible system of design platforms and pre-engineered building components. The Designer coordinates with the rest of the project team to incorporate strategies, components and details that optimize the value of the project. 

In addition to designing for individual projects, the Designer assists with the development of the standards, components and example plans that make up Unity’s design system.

The Designer is a member of Unity’s design team, and reports to the Design Director. This full-time (40-45 hours per week) role is based in Unity’s Walpole, NH office.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
3+ years of experience in an architectural, design-build or construction office
A degree in design or architecture is beneficial, but not required
Proficient in 3D BIM software, Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects

Ideal candidate will be
Technically competent, with a strong background in design, and thorough understanding of design-build processes
Proficient Communicator—both written and verbal
Collaborative, results-focused and independent
Organized and detail-oriented

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range is $45,000 to $50,000
