Emily Dean is Director of Housing Decarbonization for NYSERDA where she leads the development and execution of strategies and partnerships to accelerate efficient electrification of New York's homes and multifamily buildings, with a focus on reaching low-to-moderate income New Yorkers and affordable housing in service of the climate and equity goals of New York's Climate Act. Emily also leads the Governor's 2022 State of the State initiative to develop an action plan to achieve Two Million Climate-Friendly Homes by 2030. Prior to this role, Emily served as Director of Market Development, where her portfolio included Communities & Local Governments, Workforce Development, and Industrial & Agriculture. Before joining NYSERDA in 2016, Emily was Deputy Assistant Commissioner for New York City's DCAS Energy Management, where she developed strategies and programs to reduce emissions across the City’s 4,000+ public buildings. Emily earned a BA in Urban Design from NYU and MPA from Columbia University.
