08-07-15 Pro Tour - Wayland's First Passive House
This Pro Tour is currently full. However, the hosts have agreed to run a second Pro Tour on Friday, November 6, 2015. Whether you have been to the tour already, or if you were not able to snag a spot on this one, it will be exciting to see this great project three months further along. The tour of this 2,500 square foot home will be led by hosts Mike Dutra and Nicholas Falkoff from Auburndale Builders, Mike Duclos, the PHIUS+ rater, and Donald Grose, the project architect and designer. The tour will conclude with a reception, and a presentation entitled "Going Foam-Free in Passive Construction"
CEUs: 2.5 AIA LU/HSW, 2.5 GBCI CEUs (pending approval) and certificates of participation are available

The existing house was deconstructed piece by piece and the materials sold for re-use

The new home will be powered by PV and generate more energy than it uses

The home will be certified through PHIUS to meet the Passive standard

The insulation of the house is an entirely foam-free enclosure

The rainwater from the house will be harvested and used for irrigation

The house has been designed to be accessible for the clients as they age in place
