Construction on this new residence is scheduled to take place starting in spring 2016; the Pro Tour will offer a chance for participants to see the way the project has come together, while the building process is still underway.  This home serves as an example of residential construction that strategically employs standard building materials and techniques to meet the passive house standard.

 

The Finished Product Will Include

  • 2,200 sq. ft structure
  • double stud wall zip wall air barrier closed cell foam and dense pack cellulose
  • HERS Index score of 30
  • Photovoltaic panels
  • 4.75 kbtu/sq ft energy use (Passive House Standard)
  • 2 ductless minisplits zehner ERV heat pump hot water heater

Tour of the Passive House (still under construction)

Group returns by bus to meeting point
