We are a small design/build company that  has been building high performance homes and energy retrofitting, renovating and restoring existing homes for over thirty years using green and sustainable building practices. We are looking for stellar candidates that have skills both as a business manager and full charge bookkeeper. You are someone who enjoys working within a team committed to a common goal  of minimizing our impact on climate change. 

Job description:

Collaborate with owner to define financial goals and ensure that the company is on track to meet them, as well as create and maintain monthly and yearly financial budgets and forecasts
Maintain the company accounting files currently in Quickbooks Desktop
Prepare financial reports and statements, record complex transactions and process timesheets and payroll
Invoice customers in accordance with contract terms and manage accounts receivable
Prepare and execute all tax and payroll filings and IRA contributions
Provide advice on company financial decisions and ensure all financial activities are compliant with industry laws
Perform payments and bank deposits
Collaborate with accountant for year end tax preparation
Working in the office, starting with 3 days/week, with expanded schedule possible. Hourly from $30 - 45, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications:

Trustworthiness and integrity
Strong experience and capabilities with Quickbooks Desktop - Contractor’s Edition
Proven ability with financial and budgetary processes
Oriented to details, and strong follow through
Proven ability with financial and budgetary processes
Previous data analysis experience
Being self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Business knowledge
Ability to multitask under tight deadlines

Additional Qualifications - desired but not required:

Experience with Quickbooks Desktop - Contractor Edition
Prior construction industry experience  - invoicing, estimating, budgets, and contracts,  scoping, procurement, management and project management software
Experience with Google Suite
