Looking for an Architectural Designer

BRIBURN specializes in sustainable, energy efficient architectural designs for residential and light commercial projects. BRIBURN seeks a highly motivated Architectural Designer for full time, in-person employment. 

Required education, experience, and knowledge:
• Commitment to sustainability – candidates should be able to demonstrate deep passion for architecture as a vehicle for healing the planet
• 2-5 years in architectural practice in an architecture office
• Ability to communicate ideas both visually and verbally with skill and flair with clients, contractors, and design team
• Proficiency in Revit

Preferred Requirements
• Completion of a five-year architectural degree program and/or master’s in architecture
• Highly encouraged: knowledge of and experience in specific subsets of sustainable design, such as operational carbon calculations, lifecycle analysis, designing for biodiversity, high-performance building envelope design
• Proficiency in digital software including Revit, SketchUp, WUFI, Twinmotion, and Adobe Suite
• Familiarity with energy modeling and/or WUFI Passive software
• Knowledge of building technology, construction techniques, related engineering principles, sustainability strategies, building codes, and assembly of construction drawing sets
• Ability to maintain small potted plants for significant lengths of time

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in executing architectural projects within all design phases (drawings, management, and construction administration)
• Perform diverse roles in diverse projects – team members work on multiple projects at once, taking slightly different roles as required by the scale and phase
• Contribute to the office’s collaborative design process
• Willing and able to take on diverse roles on multiple projects
• Articulate design ideas in sketches and digital visualizations
• Production of Revit BIM under supervision of Principals and Project Architects
• Develop construction drawings and detailing strategies under supervision of Principals and Project Architects
• Develop exterior and interior solutions for projects, selecting materials, fixtures, and furnishings
