Taitem Engineering has an opportunity for an Engineering Associate – Building Information Modeler/Drafter to join its Design Department. The successful candidate will focus on engineering design for both new and existing buildings as part of Taitem’s MEP+S team. Responsibilities:
The Engineering Associate will work as part of the design team to bring projects to successful completion.  The Engineering Associate is detail-oriented, dedicated to quality work, and has a desire to learn and progress in the engineering profession. Specific work includes —
• Modeling mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing systems in Revit
• Assisting in specifications writing
• Site visits/site inspections
• Coordination and communication with team members, both internal and external.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• 1+ years modeling MEP systems in Revit or other BIM in a professional environment
• Post-high-school education in engineering or related subject such as building science, drafting, or building information modeling
• Good communication skills, including speaking, listening, and writing
• Familiarity with building construction and the construction trades
• Knowledge of building codes and standards

Working at Taitem

Taitem supports a flexible work environment, with a combination of in-office, work-from-home, and on-site work. The successful candidate must, however, be able to meet with project stakeholders and conduct site visits and inspections at project sites in the Ithaca, New York area and at other locations. Compensation: The recruiting range for this position is between $20 and $30 per hour, depending on the skills and experience of the applicant.
