Design Director Position Summary
Unity’s Design Director oversees the development and deployment of Unity's Design System and will report to the Operations Director.  This is a full-time (40-45 hours per week) role based in our Walpole, NH office and may include occasional travel.

Responsibilities include

  • System Development
  • Analyzing the existing design system for strengths and weaknesses
  • Developing work plan with goals and timeline for refining the design system
  • Overseeing development of rules, guidelines and standards for system
  • Improving the interchangeability of component parts
  • Leading efforts to increase the quantity and quality of component parts
  • Enhancing the aesthetic capabilities of the design system
  • Developing better presentation tools for sales and marketing

     
System Deployment

  • Ensuring that system is consistently deployed and utilized on projects
  • Establishing feedback loops for continuous improvement
  • Working with the design team to ensure that the system is usable and effective
  • Working with the sales team to incorporate feedback from clients
  • Working with the project management team to develop system-based pricing tools
  • Working with the IT team to develop software that supports the design system
  • Working with developers to adapt the design system as appropriate for multiple regions and markets

Required Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a Master of Architecture degree
  • CAD proficient
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects
  • Experience leading high-performance teams preferred
  • Familiarity with Dimensional Coordination and Open Building preferred
