Our ideal candidate has 2+ years of construction experience. They are savvy in carpentry, renovation, building science and high performance construction techniques, and are always eager to learn more. This position requires strong communication skills and interacts frequently with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the whole New Frameworks team. Core Site-based Responsibilities

  • Working closely with and reports to our Lead Carpenter to successfully bring projects to completion.
  • Taking on build tasks independently under the guidance of the Lead and delivering tasks on budget, on schedule, and to the Lead's satisfaction.
  • Executing renovation carpentry: framing through finishes.
  • Executing new construction carpentry: framing, trim, siding, window/door install, air sealing, flashing.
  • Working with power tools and associated safety and maintenance protocol.
  • Understand basics of building science and green building skills with an interest to grow in this area. (Regular in-house and external training included with this position).
  • Supporting and working with crew effectively. Building positive daily culture, providing on-the-job guidance and training, as needed, to apprentices.
  • Communicating daily with Lead regarding progress, logistics, and other incidental requirements relevant to the execution of the work.

Core Administrative Responsibilities

  • Participate regularly in quarterly All-Company Meetings to help steer direction of company and be an active member of the Build Committee.
  • Participate actively in interdependent, team-focused company culture.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills a must.
  • Familiarity with and safe operation of all basic hand and power tools commonly used for construction/carpentry.
  • Use of web-based applications for time tracking, receipt management, etc.

Compensation package

  • Full time: 40 hours/week, salary range $20-24/hr depending on experience level. Pays biweekly based on actual hours worked.
  • Position has a 3-6 month trial period with review at 3 and 6 months to ensure a good mutual fit.
  • Vision and dental insurance provided, 100% paid by company.
  • Profit sharing at the end of the fiscal year. Amount is based on ownership percentage.
  • Workers Compensation coverage (standard).
  • AFLAC coverage (some paid by company, some elective/additive on company plan, deducted from member’s paycheck as desired).
  • 40 hrs paid time off.
  • $200/year pp for personal tool or tech allowance.
