Hopkinton, MA based Solect Energy Development is seeking a full-time Director of Solar Construction Management to oversee the construction of its solar PV projects in the New England area. As Director of Construction Management, the ideal candidate will oversee the leadership and development of all personnel working on the solar PV projects including Project Managers, site supervisors, field staff, subcontractors and related administrative personnel. The Director of Construction Management would report to the VP of Operations and would be responsible for allocating the resources necessary for the effective and efficient execution and completion of multiple solar PV projects simultaneously, while also assisting with employee development and performance reviews. The Director of Construction Management reviews project schedules, construction documents/design drawings, conducts weekly PM meetings and assists in creating functional strategies, policies, operational efficiencies and procedures that help meet company goals and objectives. The ideal candidate would work well with the Design, Regulatory, Sales, Service and Construction Ops/Logistics teams within the organization and will be accountable for meeting budgeted goals, quality assurance, and on-time completion while delivering an exceptional customer experience. He/She will be a driven, self-starter with a passion for the solar industry with the ability to manage a large volume of projects while demonstrating excellent communication and planning. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is a key to success in this role.   • Manage several project managers, site supervisors, and material procurement.

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience.

  • Ensure all administration is completed accurately and timely, including project plans, and master schedules.

  • Manage and share best practices for construction. Always looking for ways to improve on cost and quality.

  • Plan workload and assignments to achieve efficiency, predictability, quality and a high level of customer satisfaction.

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • BS in Construction Management or other related field preferred.

  • 10+ years experience in construction project management with minimum 3 years PV solar experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in project start-up, sub-contractor buyouts, cost estimates, change orders and operational efficiencies

  • Willingness and capability to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops

  • Administrative- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com. Competent navigating various software applications.

  • Communication Skills- Excellent written and verbal communication a must

  • OSHA 10 hour certification (30 hr. certification preferred)

  • NABCEP certifications a plus

  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License a plus

  • Valid driving license
