Attend an Open Planning Meeting for BuildingEnergy Boston 2022
BuildingEnergy Boston 2022 Co-Chairs Anna Heath and Christopher Nielson invite you to share your vision for next year's conference at one of two Open Planning Meetings:
- In-person in Boston, on Monday, September 13, 4pm-6pm. Register here.
- Online on Wednesday, September 15, 4pm-5:30pm. Register here.
These meetings will be interactive and paced to allow thoughtful conversation with other professionals from around the Northeast. You'll also learn how you can become a member of the Content Committee, which reviews session proposals and guides their development into high-quality sessions.
Both the in-person and online meetings are free and open to all — NESEA Membership is not required to attend. However, we do ask those who have not been vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend the online meeting only.
We are still in search of a venue for the in-person event that can accommodate about 40 people. If you have ideas or would like to host the event, please contact Ben Sachs-Hamilton, Conference Manager, at bsachs-hamilton@nesea.org.

Explore NESEA's First Hybrid Conference
BuildingEnergy NYC 2021 (September 29 & 30) will be NESEA's first hybrid conference, and we want to let you know about some of the steps we're taking to make the event as safe and accessible as possible.
- In order to participate in the in-person portion of the event on Thursday, September 30, attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
- For those who are not vaccinated or not interested in attending in-person, we are offering a fully virtual Methods & Materials Showcase on Wednesday, September 29, and will be live-streaming select sessions on Thursday, September 30.
- In the unlikely event that the in-person portion of the event cannot take place or if you cannot attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may convert your Full Pass to a Virtual Pass and will be offered a refund for the difference in price.
View the schedule at glance and session lineup to start planning your conference experience. Remember, NESEA Members must log in to access member pricing. If you have any questions, please contact us at registration@nesea.org.

Only 6 Exhibit Tables Left for BuildingEnergy NYC
Over the past year, we've piloted some fantastic ways for sponsors to interact with attendees on a digital platform. We're now looking forward to incorporating even more interactivity into our first hybrid conference. See all sponsorship opportunities, including exhibit tables on the in-person trade show floor, here or contact Miriam Aylward at maylward@nesea.org for more information.

Apply to Serve on NESEA's Board of Directors!
Each year, NESEA's Membership elects individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. If you'd like to be considered as a candidate for this year's election, you can complete the application here (you'll need to log in to your NESEA account first). The deadline to apply is Monday, August 16. The board's Nominating Committee will then review and vet applications to develop a slate of candidates for the ballot. NESEA Members will cast their votes this fall, and the new Board term will start on January 1, 2022.
Prior to applying, we recommend viewing the Board Member job description. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience applying for grant funding. We also encourage applications from individuals who identify as women, people of color, or LGBTQ+.
We recognize that serving on a Board of Directors and attending in-person meetings may be prohibitively expensive, and have made funds available to support Board Members for whom participation would be a financial hardship.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly at nominating@nesea.org.
All the best,
Ben Southworth
NESEA Nominating Committee Chair
