Now Accepting Session Proposals for the BuildingEnergy NYC 2025 Conference

Proposal Submission Deadline: Sunday, April 27, 2025

We are now accepting session proposals for the BuildingEnergy NYC 2025 Conference, which will be taking place on October 16. Session proposals are due on April 27, and will be reviewed by an experienced committee of NESEA Members. We look forward to your submissions!

Conference Theme: Action and Adaptation

The NESEA community has always been a force for courageous, innovative change. The climate movement in the United States is at a pivotal moment this year, with federal government actions likely to slow or even reverse progress toward established targets. At the same time, we are facing the rising frequency and severity of extreme weather events—uprooting people's lives and costing billions of dollars annually. In this new climate reality and complex policy environment, it is more important than ever for us to find creative ways to adapt and move forward with confidence, and to design buildings that will continue to perform at the highest level while withstanding these changing conditions.

The 2025 BuildingEnergy NYC conference will focus on how those of us in the building industries can continue to take effective action by incorporating resilience, adaptation, and mitigation strategies towards large-scale climate goals, while navigating an environment where regulatory and funding structures are unpredictable. We all must think critically and innovatively about the approaches that are feasible to continue driving impact in an uncertain national landscape, as well as how design and policy considerations themselves can look toward the future and center climate adaptation.

NESEA News
Thank You for Making BuildingEnergy Boston Such a Great Event!

It was so wonderful to see our community back together last week at BuildingEnergy Boston! It was a much needed time for connection and collaboration and the perfect way for NESEA to celebrate its 50th anniversary. We are incredibly grateful for the response to this year's conference theme of "Building the Movement" and we were thrilled to have the conference sell out for the second year in a row!

The conference was a great reminder of the incredible work happening around us and the necessity of sharing information and collaborating as we work towards mitigating the effects of the climate crisis and political instability. We have compiled a collection of photos from the conference here and you can review slide decks from conference sessions on our website here.

Thank you to this year's sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and Content Committee, especially to Conference Chairs Keirstan Entriken and Jacob Deva Racusin and Vice Chairs Gregory Smith and Clay Tilton.

Our community is truly what makes our conferences special. We hope to see you at an upcoming NESEA event soon!
