Join NESEA in Boston for an exceptional case study of how sustainability, equity, and innovation intersect in the built environment.

We will be touring this new 68,000-square-foot campus in Roxbury’s Nubian Square embodies FCT’s mission of providing affordable technical education to a predominantly BIPOC and first-generation college student body, while also serving as a catalyst for community revitalization. This all-electric, resilient building has been conceived as a sustainable academic facility and a teaching tool, aligning the college’s green economy-driven curriculum with its physical environment.

We will also be capitalizing on the opportunity of the day to introduce attendees to members of NESEA's BuildingEnergy Access program, designed to provide business support and connection to women and BIPOC-owned businesses. After check-in and a chance for refreshments and networking, our program will kick-off with mini-presentations from program participants.

This Pro Tour is attracting a lot of interest, so don't delay registering if you are interested in attending!

Justice and Equity Community Meet Up: Boston

Event Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Event Time: 5:00 PM
Location: Boston, MA
Event Cost: free

On November 12, NESEA will be hosting an in-person meet-up for people working in industries connected to NESEA who have identities that are traditionally underrepresented in the field. This is a follow-up to similar events we have run in New York City.

The goal of the meet up is to foster connections, share experiences, and to help inform NESEA's next steps related to our Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI), as we look for ways to best support our community. NESEA envisions a vibrant and resilient built environment that supports climate justice and equity. Events like this are in service of that vision.

We are specifically inviting people who have marginalized identities, including women, LGBTQIA, BIPOC individuals, people living with a disability, and others who could benefit from this community building. If you are interested in this event but have questions about whether or not you should attend, please email NESEA Executive Director, Florence MacGregor, at fmacgregor@nesea.org.

On December 5th, we will be holding an in-depth tour of a 73,000 GSF, 3-story building featuring 68 units of affordable senior housing, including 66 one-bedroom apartments and 2 two-bedroom apartments. This building was designed with high-performance building materials and systems to maximize energy efficiency and sustainability. As a high-performance, affordable housing project, our hosts believe this site offers valuable insights for NESEA’s community of building professionals, particularly those interested in Passive House construction, multifamily energy efficiency, and sustainable design strategies.

Our event will begin with an opening workshop where the team will discuss the history, goals, and design and construction strategies. Attendees will then break into small groups to tour the facility while hearing more from the interdisciplinary team of experts who made the building possible. After the tour, we’ll regroup for a reception and Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to chat with the day’s speakers and each other. We hope to see you there!
