BuildingEnergy Access Interview: Terra Design-Build

BuildingEnergy Access is a NESEA initiative to support the work of WMBEs (women and minority-owned business enterprises) by connecting them with the resources of the NESEA community. We have been introducing the participating companies to the wider NESEA community through a series of spotlight interviews (you can read previous interviews in this series here).

We recently sat down with Wendy Brown of Terra Design-Build, a woman-owned architecture firm focused on sustainably designed residential and light commercial projects. They are based in Dalton, Massachusetts and licensed to work in both MA and VT.

We discussed her work, running the business, and her impressions of the BuildingEnergy Access program so far. Read more...

NESEA Board of Directors Update: Executive Committee

We are thrilled to announce that Andrea Mancino of Bright Power, has been appointed as NESEA's new Board Chair. Lauren Hildebrand, also of Bright Power, will be joining her as Vice Chair.

The final two spots on this year's Executive Committee will be rounded out by James Moriarty (Sustainable Comfort) as Treasurer and Parlin Meyer (BrightBuilt Home) as Secretary. You can meet all members of NESEA's Board of Directors here.

Now Recruiting Paid Facilitators for our BuildingEnergy Bottom Lines Program

Bottom Lines is NESEA's peer-network program for business owners and managers in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry. Over its ten year history, this program has supported more than 90 businesses as they worked together to improve their triple Bottom Line: people, prosperity, and planet.

The program breaks the participating companies into groups of 10-12, each with a paid facilitator or pair of co-facilitators. We are actively seeking additional facilitators from within the NESEA community to support the growth and continued success of the program and its participants.

Facilitators do not need to be subject matter experts but should have experience with leadership, facilitation, meeting planning, and business development/operations. Most significantly, facilitators should have a deep connection to NESEA's overall mission.
