BuildingEnergy Magazine Theme: My Favorite Project

NESEA is now accepting proposals for our 2026 BuildingEnergy magazine: this year’s theme is My Favorite Project. This is your chance to write about a project that holds a special place for you and to share it with the NESEA community. Whatever your role in the project, we’d like to hear why it is meaningful to you.

Your favorite project may be a building project or it may be something that isn’t a physical space but still connects to the work you do professionally, such as an apprenticeship program, a partnership that achieved a particular goal, or a deliberate revitalization of your company’s employee culture. We expect most proposals to be about high performance buildings, and are glad to hear about favorite projects completed at any point in your career, whether it’s an experiment in early passive design to a new showcase building built in 2026.

We will select proposals that share a range of work being done in the NESEA community, and priority will be given to proposers who are current NESEA members. Proposals are due by Friday, May 29 and should highlight work/projects that connect to our mission and our long term vision:

  • Mission
NESEA advances sustainability practices in the built environment by cultivating a cross-disciplinary community where practitioners are encouraged to share, collaborate, and learn.
  • Vision
We envision a vibrant and resilient built environment that supports climate justice and equity.
