BuildingEnergy Boston Webinar: Transitioning to Low-Temperature Hydronic Heating
SPONSORED BY DXS and HTS
Local governments have adopted building emissions reduction policies, and building owners are pursuing their own goals to decarbonize. Challenges exist to electrify buildings that currently use high-temperature hot water due to limited options for heat pumps that are limited by physics to attain ideal efficiencies. Strategies to help facilitate the transition from high-temperature hot water to low-temperature hot water will be examined, with a focus on how to retrofit existing terminal equipment that currently depends on high-temperature hot water to satisfy building loads. This presentation will cover equipment options that allow new buildings to use low-temperature hot water to maximize efficiency of air-to-water heat pumps without sacrificing comfort or cost.
