ROCKWOOL is seeking a high energy technical sales professional with a track record of building successful relationships and closing new business. Reporting to ROCKWOOL’s US Director of Architectural Sales, this position is a front line technical sales role position, responsible for strengthening the brand image, and specification and sales performance of ROCKWOOL’s US commercial insulation products. The Architectural Specification Manager will act as a liaison between ROCKWOOL and the designer and specification-writing community. Specifically, this role will have specification responsibility with NYC firms and will  focus on building scalable relationships with local architects, consultants, designers, engineers, and owners.

Key Deliverables:

Attack Pinpoint market opportunities with architectural and design  community with the mindset to build lasting and meaningful relationships that translate to sustainable specification growth. Generate project opportunities and achieve designer support of ROCKWOOL products by expanding the depth and breadth of knowledge of our products and services.

Build Develop the upstream sales pipeline, working with Sales teammates through the project cycle to turn potential opportunities to closed wins, through value-selling the benefits of ROCKWOOL products. Overcome objections and convert hurdles into growth opportunities among architects and commercial construction project teams. Foster and maintain strong partnerships with other sales team members to grow and expand sales. 

Persist Display strong Technical foundation by leveraging industry knowledge, product attributes and building science. Utilize relationships, codes and policies, and social media tools to gain insight into industry trends, market practices and communicate with customers. Use experience and judgment to simultaneously focus on current projects and building long-term influence in firms.

Strategize Identify potential projects and market opportunities with designers and higher-level decision makers who influence contractors, subcontractors, and installers. Understand and provide competitor information and insights related to strategy and product. Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape and strategic next steps; proactively identifying opportunities to exceed expectations and position ourselves as the industry leader.

Consult Influence the building materials industry, constantly networking to become a trusted advisor to existing and potential customers. Thrive on expert problem solving, determining solutions that execute favorable results. Engage and educate customers with insight and product knowledge. Explain complex subject matters (e.g., thermal wall fundamentals) to any audience and tactfully communicate both good & bad news. Technical aptitude is essential.

Grow Personally and professionally. Continually working on and look for areas of improvement. Develop and build stronger technical and industry knowledge, through formal internal and external training, cross functional project collaboration and team cooperation. Set individual goals outside of sales and business targets. 

This is what you offer:

Bachelor’s Degree.
Two or years of related work experience is required
Architecture, engineering, or other high-level experience in the building material industry is preferred and will contribute to success
Proficiency in the MS Office suite and CRM experience is needed
Ability to Travel outside of region:<20%
