Benjamin + Company is seeking a Timber Framer to join our team. The ideal candidate brings hands-on knowledge of traditional timber framing techniques, an understanding of structural wood systems, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a crew. This role requires craftsmanship, a team-oriented mindset, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Applicants Should:

  • Be enthusiastic about creating beautiful, resilient work
  • Demonstrate attention to detail when laying out, cutting, and assembling timber frame components
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Participate in frame raisings and on-site installations
  • Communicate clearly and work well with others
  • Be comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work and working at heights
  • Possess basic tools appropriate to experience level and a valid driver’s license
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, teammates, and subcontractors
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in traditional hand-cut joinery
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and architectural plans
  • Proficiency in forklift operation

 

While previous timber framing experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate with prior carpentry experience.
