Paulina Dieffenbach

As the Building Decarbonization Project Manager for the City of Boston, Paulina leads innovative, inclusive engagement with community-based organizations, constituents, and City partners on energy affordability and emissions reduction. She is proud to be part of the team that helped design and launch Boston Energy Saver, a citywide initiative focused on advancing equitable access to energy-efficiency resources. One of her favorite parts of her job is connecting with residents about thermal comfort and health, in her native language, Spanish.
Before joining the Environment Department, Paulina worked at Clean Water Action Massachusetts, where she led energy-efficiency and air-quality campaigns. In 2024, she served as a Rappaport Policy Fellow at the MA Department of Energy Resources, analyzing tiered structures to improve energy affordability. Paulina earned her Master’s of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University, and holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Studies from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
