Brett is a principal with RMI’s buildings practice, where he leads an integrative design and energy analysis group driving the adoption of super-efficient and net-zero carbon buildings. Brett has 15 years of multidisciplinary experience across architecture, energy engineering, and utility programs. He designed, managed, or consulted on projects at all scales, from individual buildings and districts and communities to large public and private portfolios and national roadmaps. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including national building sector roadmaps, decarbonization approaches for existing buildings, market transformation programs, technical and business models for net-zero developments, and many other forms of building energy analysis and strategy.
In previous roles, Brett designed, launched, and managed utility energy efficiency programs for commercial, industrial, public sector, and all-electric residential new construction. He has also provided engineering consulting and analysis on commercial energy efficiency projects. Brett started his career as a design architect in Chicago, designing award-winning, high-performance buildings and districts.
Brett is a licensed architect (WI) and certified energy manager®(CEM).
