Due to the overwhelming enthusiasm for the August Pro Tour of this site, NESEA was thrilled to be able to offer a second Pro Tour of the first Passive House in Wayland!
The tour of this 2,500 square foot home was led by hosts Mike Dutra and Nicholas Falkoff from Auburndale Builders, Michael Hindle, CPHC, and Donald Grose, the project designer. The tour concluded with a reception and Q&A sesssion. This second tour of the site took a look at the ways the project has progressed, including new interior fixtures.

Project Details:
The existing house was deconstructed piece by piece and the materials sold for re-use
The new home will be powered by PV and generate more energy than it uses
The home will be certified through PHIUS to meet the Passive standard
The insulation of the house is an entirely foam-free enclosure
The rainwater from the house will be harvested and used for irrigation
The house has been designed to be accessible for the clients as they age in place
