RESNET Standard 1550: Embodied Carbon Comes of Age

Building Energy Boston 2019 launched awareness of embodied carbon as a key issue for the home building sector. The following five years marked major advances in understanding and measuring EC. The question quickly changed from "what is embodied carbon?" to "how can we best measure embodied carbon?" Now, in 2025, comes the first consensus standard for measuring and reporting embodied carbon, and this session opens the hood and examines what's in the standard, how it works and how to use 1550.
