Celebrating a Half Century of NESEA

Since 1975, NESEA has advanced sustainability practices in the built environment by cultivating a cross-disciplinary community where practitioners are encouraged to share, collaborate, and learn. Over the course of that time, NESEA has become an extraordinary community of practitioners that strives to transform our built environment by building relationships, sharing lessons learned, and challenging the status quo. The NESEA of today is a thriving organization, fueled by learners, leaders, and doers who care deeply about our shared vision: a vibrant and resilient built environment that supports climate justice and equity. 

In celebration of our 50th anniversary in 2025, we spent time reflecting with our community, organizing special events around the Northeast, and combing through our archives for fun memories to share. As we looked back on the first 50 years of learning and connecting, we were also busy planning the next 50. Here's to a bright future, a close community, and a more sustainable and healthy built environment!
