NESEA's December 2020 Pro Tour was a ZNE solar village, comprising 18 townhouse-style units of modular housing in New York’s Finger Lakes region, hosted by Sustainable Comfort.
About the Event
Through a mix of video, presentation, and small group breakout rooms, we used a format that preserves the interactive, behind-the-scenes vibe that has made NESEA’s Pro Tours so popular.
Unlike a traditional webinar, attendees came with their mics and cameras on: as a participant in this event, they were able to see and hear other attendees, ask content experts questions directly, and meet new people in the NESEA community
About the Project
This women-led development was designed to provide 18 units of stylish, net zero energy housing to the town of Geneva. Homes in the solar village are produced locally, assembled to strict quality and energy use standards while providing living wage manufacturing jobs in Geneva, New York: the project is built on community and resilience. The homes feature SIP (structural insulated panels) walls with vertical strength comparable to steel I-beams), heat pumps, ERVs, and solar roof 10 kW PV arrays over membrane roofing.
