Proposed Session Description
Single family buildings encompass many of our efficiency, utility, and Weatherization programs, yet they slow the production pipeline. Program managers and staff need faster production, yet as great as they are, they sometimes fear the larger buildings, or even worse, dealing with the OWNER! This session is designed to reduce your anxiety, and walk you through the process of dealing with a large building.
Diversity and Inclusiveness
Multifamily buildings, particularly affordable, address need for many people of color and their families. Ignoring multifamily as a conference neglects a large portion of our population's diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Learning Objectives
Learn to jump up from single to multifamily auditing and production
Ease your way into the intricacies of multifamily sustainability and auditing
Become more confident that your single family skills are ready to apply towards multifamily buildings
Increase the production, cost Increase your program production while lowering your cost per unit, and meeting your goals more effectively.

He has over 40 years of experience managing sustainability projects and programs across the private, nonprofit, and financial sectors. He is a nationally noted expert on building science, sustainability, resilience, energy efficiency, multifamily buildings, code compliance, and appliance efficiency. He writes and presents on these subjects regionally and nationally. Padian has managed numerous projects and programs within the building community, from vast energy auditing programs to changing the way financial institutions provide loans, encouraging sustainability and cash flow. Throughout his experience, he has worked extensively with contractors, building code officials, owners, architects, engineers, and other building professionals to reach positive outcomes and complete projects on time and within budget. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, he was the principle technical construction manager for New York City’s largest subrecipient, working in the office and field to complete complex projects that needed to repair damage, exceed building codes, and create more resilient properties. In all of these positions, he was responsible for training and mentoring existing staff, consultants, and other professionals to meet or exceed the desired outcome of the program. Andy is a Lifetime NESEA member and co-creator of the NESEA BE-NYC conference, as well as conference chair of both BE Boston and NYC. He has a terminal case of Yankees fandom, which has been deemed incurable. He lives in Hell’s Kitchen NYC and finds his own sense of humor brilliant.

Full Description
With production goals stressing the staff, budgets, and future funding, all sustainability programs need to ramp up, particularly in our current politically charged, and now, Trump poisoned environment. We need to show unit and savings results, where else better than addressing multifamily? Nationally the WAP program has been ramping up in MF, more programs need to for low cost per unit, owner contribution, and combining programs together.
