This panel will explore current use cases for distributed energy resource (DER) technologies such as photovoltaics (PV), combined heat & power (CHP), and energy storage. We will walk through modeling considerations for each of the technologies (primarily CHP and energy storage) and a few hybrid configurations, focusing on practical, financial, and technical considerations from best-fit candidates and operations strategies. The panel will also address existing barriers and planned interventions (by NYSERDA and others) to reduce the soft costs associated with these projects. This session will feature examples from project developers who are planning or have planned hybrid systems in the New York City area.
