Gail Sullivan is a visionary architect dedicated to building sustainable communities. Since founding Studio G Architects in 1993, she has been a trailblazer in advancing social equity, environmental sustainability, and community preservation through thoughtful engagement. Gail's leadership exemplifies the transformative impact of public interest architecture.
Her extensive portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects, including housing, K-12 schools, higher education facilities, early learning centers, public/institutional buildings, commercial structures, and community centers. Gail excels in addressing complex functional, social, and programmatic challenges, particularly those at the intersection of building, neighborhood, and urban scales.
Before her career in architecture, Gail spent a decade as an activist for human rights, social justice, and environmental causes. Her experiences with organizations such as the American Indian Movement, the Mass. Coalition of Battered Women’s Groups, now Jane Doe, Inc., and as Director of Greenpeace New England have significantly influenced her planning and architectural design approach.
Committed to designing sustainable communities, Gail focuses on creating green, mixed-use, and transit-oriented spaces that cater to a diverse population. She passionately advocates for zero net energy as the benchmark for measuring the performance of every project. Gail is a distinguished member of various professional organizations, including the AIA College of Fellows, Boston Society of Architects, Built Environment Plus, CHAPA, CREW Boston, International Living Futures Institute, NESEA, Urban Land Institute, and US Green Building Council.
Gail is licensed in Massachusetts, Maine, and Rhode Island, and holds an NCARB certificate.
