Brien Tal-Baker owns Simple City Studio (SCS), a small architectural practice in Western Massachusetts focusing on energy efficient, low carbon, affordable homes. SCS has worked for several years with Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity to bridge the home ownership affordability gap.

Brien has also taught design courses at both the Boston Architectural College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst on architecture, energy efficiency, and landscape design, as well as a number of workshops.
