Edwin (Eddie) Mendez has worked with NYCHA for 15 years. His entire career at in NYCHA has been in the various versions of NYCHA Energy Department. Eddie started out as an analyst in the department and has knowledge of NYCHA’s utility and energy profile. He was also the part of team that implemented NYCHA modernization of its heating systems which became standard including instantaneous hot water heaters, 4 pass boilers and managed the installation of NYCHA first remote heating management system. Currently Eddie oversees over $300 million in construction of energy efficiency programs including energy performance contracts, weatherization assistance program, RetrofitNY and electrification pilots. Eddie has BA in Mathematics from CUNY Hunter.
