Alan Glynn is a Mechanical Engineer (BEng.) working in the Sustainability Group in Arup Boston having previously been based in their New York office. He has worked in the UK, Australasia, Ireland and North America.
Alan’s experience spans mechanical design and installation project management, energy assessments, master-planning analysis and sustainability studies. He has worked on the detailed design and construction management of mechanical building services across a broad range of building types including commercial offices, health facilities, hotels, major railway stations, private and local authority residential, sports, educational facilities and industrial processes. Alan’s energy assessment work has ranged from finding improvements in existing facilities through implementation of renewable and high efficiency technologies to feasibility studies on city-sector size master-plan projects. He has worked as a project critic on Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation program.
Alan is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (CEng) and a certified Professional Engineer (PE). He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a LEED Associate Professional (EB O&M). He has experience with a broad range of energy modeling software packages and strategies.
