Alison caught the bug of “green design” pretty early in her career when she attended NESEA’s Building Energy Conference in 2005 and now leads the sustainable design efforts for DiMella Shaffer. Alison works across project sectors and champions the empowerment of our design teams to achieve client goals in operational performance by integrating early energy modeling and analysis and specifying healthy materials that raise consciousness about embodied carbon. She is particularly inspired to weave a social equity lens into the design process and projects, knowing that architectural decisions influence the health of our planet and impact the future of our communities, cities, and landscapes. Alison has recently taken up downhill skiing and is immersing her in learning a new sport while appreciating nature’s beauty in Winter.
