Curt Newton is Director of MIT OpenCourseWare, and has a personal mission to put open education in service of equitable climate action. At MIT, he serves on its climate education working group and holds a community of practice for colleagues doing open climate work. As a citizen, Curt is an active facilitator with the En-ROADS simulator, on the leadership team of the Boston Green New Deal Coalition, and lives in a net-zero energy retrofit home. Improvising upon preparation and taking creative leaps infuse all of this work, applying practices Curt has developed in decades of performance as a jazz drummer.
