Matt Fitzgerald is a project engineer for the DNV GL Sustainable Buildings and Communities team, specializing in sustainable energy integration, facility performance auditing, and urban resilience consulting. His last 10 years have been spent working globally with governments on climate action and energy planning projects, health & safety auditing, and sustainability program implementation.
His team is currently working with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to improve methods of assessing the resilience of low‐income, multi‐family facilities and identify ways to implement resilience measures into these existing facilities.
He has a B.S. in Operations Research from Cornell University, an M.S. in Environmental Planning and Management from Johns Hopkins University, and he is a US Air Force veteran, having served as a civil engineer in a rapid deployment contingency response role.
