Matthew received an introduction to the built environment at an early age, igniting an interest in the technical aspects of building combined with the creativity of design. As the director of sustainable design, he leads the visioning and implementation of environmentally responsible design strategies at BKSK. He brings a passive first approach, integrating climate, context, occupant comfort, and systems utilizing data to inform design decisions. Matthew has over ten years of architectural experience including Passive House Design, LEED Certification, Building Simulation and Resiliency Strategies. Prior to joining BKSK, he worked for Boston based firms collaborating on large healthcare and restoration projects.
Matthew holds a M.S in Sustainable Environmental Design from the Architectural Association and Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College.
