Transcendent Buildings
Patrick is the Principal at Transcendent Buildings or just "T-Buildings" as his kids call it. He provides solutions and technical support for clean energy lenders, programs, and projects:
Clean Energy Lenders, Capital Providers, Program Developers, and Managers:
-Quantifying and tracking savings and impacts + metrics development pre- and post-implementation.
-Technical underwriting of scope, savings, and contractors.
-Project-level risk management, oversight, and surveillance.
-Special situations and workouts - “parachuting in” to resolve messy situations, re-negotiating contacts, swapping technical or contracting partners, and implementing project controls to achieve desired outcomes.
-Programs and products - strategic planning, design, implementation, scaling, and streamlining of technical services and evaluations.
-Technical team and resource development - hiring outside firms, training, hiring, and scaling technical staff.
Building Owners, Developers, and Property Managers, Architects, and Engineers:
-Unlock value through energy, operations and maintenance, and compliance savings.
-Decarbonize buildings through energy efficiency, on-site renewable energy, energy storage systems, and electrification.
-Ensure goals are established and projects are implemented per plans.
-Develop, facilitate, and provide oversight of implementation strategy and project delivery, including financing, incentives, alignments, contracting, risk management, completion, and performance.
-Quantify energy and carbon baselines and impacts for reduction strategies, both pre- and post-implementation.
-Provide strategic facility infrastructure planning.
-Improve health, safety, and productivity.
Patrick has diverse experience in energy efficiency and building systems optimization. Working as a consultant in the commercial and industrial facilities sector, he has performed a multitude of investment-grade energy audits, retro-commissioning, and feasibility studies. He also has expertise in energy program development, construction administration, and building automation systems.
Prior to starting T-Buildings, Patrick worked as the Director of Engineering at NYCEEC, a clean energy lender. Before that, he was Project Implementation Engineer for Michaels Energy, an energy-focused engineering consulting and design firm, where he managed energy efficiency retrofit projects from benchmarking through design, construction, commissioning and evaluation.
Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Studies from Iowa State University and is fluent in Spanish. He is a LEED AP and a registered Professional Engineer.
