Robert Williams

I am an licensed architect and educator based in Amherst, MA. I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Architecture at UMass Amherst where I teach a variety of studio design courses and supporting technical courses that focus on sustainability, high-performance building, urbanism, and architectural responses to the climate crisis.

As a professional, my work focuses on high-performance, low energy, and low carbon residential architecture. I maintain a professional relationship with Truth Box Architects, a small architecture and development firm in Providence RI. While at Truth Box, I have been the lead designer on a series of high-performance multifamily developments in and around Providence, including the first certified Passive House multifamily project in Rhode Island.
