Sarah Carter

Sarah has over 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering and serves in a senior leadership role at Petersen Engineering. She provides technical oversight and direction for the design of high-performance, sustainable mechanical systems across a diverse range of project types. Sarah leads multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, ensuring quality, constructability, and integrated design. Her experience includes multi-family housing, water and wastewater treatment facilities, commercial buildings, historic mill conversions, and complex occupied rehabilitation projects. Many of the new construction multi-family projects are passive house (phius) certified. Sarah received her BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Virginia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Maine, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Certified Passive House Consultant.
