As part of our ongoing efforts to welcome more students and new professionals into our programs and community, NESEA is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2026 BE the Future scholarship cycle, as part of our BuildingEnergy Boston conference. 

We will be awarding a limited number of scholarships to individuals in the following categories:

As part of our ongoing efforts to welcome more students and new professionals into our programs and community, NESEA is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2025 BE the Future scholarship.

We will be awarding a limited number of scholarships to individuals in the following categories:

1. Emerging Professionals: Individuals who have been working in their fields for less than five years.

BuildingEnergy magazine is NESEA's annual publication for high-performance building and sustainable energy professionals and practitioners. This year's theme will be Existing Buildings - we're looking for case studies, new approaches, lessons learned, new technologies, and other content related to improving the performance and resiliency of our existing building stock.

There are 3 ways to become involved involved with the 2024 issue:

Review Period: May 1 – June 13
Notification of Decisions: Mid June

BuildingEnergy NYC will take place on October 24, 2024, with the theme of Beyond Compliance. Session proposals are due on April 29, and will be reviewed by an experienced committee of NESEA Members. We hope you'll consider submitting an idea!

Share your work with the NESEA community! We are now accepting proposals for the 2024 Pro Tour Series, which will run from April–December. 

BuildingEnergy Pro Tours are accredited tours of high performance buildings that bring together the interdisciplinary teams that made them possible. They allow members of our community to learn about all aspects of cutting edge projects, from design strategies and materials selection to construction techniques and energy systems.

The deadline to submit your conference session proposal is November 8.

Celebrating NESEA Leaders

We are now accepting nominations for the 2023 NESEA Awards. Any current member can submit a nomination; please visit the awards landing pages below to learn more about the awards and access the nomination forms. Nominations close on August 22.

As a NESEA Member, you are eligible to vote in this year's NESEA Board of Directors election. 7 NESEA Members are running for 4 open seats on the board. Our membership will elect 3 individuals, and the Board will then appoint 1 additional individual. Voting is open to all NESEA Members, and closes on November 3rd.
