Lewis M. Kwit is president of Energy Investment Systems, a firm that implements a wide range of energy efficient cost-saving technologies and conducts research in sustainable policy. Most recently Lewis represented the city as a subgroup leader for the microgrid working group of the State’s Reforming the Energy Vision (Track I). In 2011-12 he was co-director of a NYSERDA-funded project with the C.V. Starr Research Foundation of the Cooper Union on regenerative drives and permanent magnet motors in elevators, measuring elevator consumption and generation at the Empire State Building and Bank of American Tower. His work in developing the city’s first residential time variant pricing project earned the company a NYSERDA 25th Anniversary Pioneer Award Winner for “excellence in energy innovation for the State of NY.” The 2004 Energy Service Professional of the Year of the Association of Energy Engineers/NY Chapter, Mr. Kwit is a frequent author and speaker on institutional, technological and policy issues in the energy field. The New York City native holds a MUP from NYU and a BS from Hunter College.
