Thermal Energy Networks: An Overview and Project Examples

Using heat pumps to electrify heating and cooling is a common approach to decarbonizing buildings. To achieve the goals of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, New York State must quickly move from a building-by-building approach to a community-by-community approach. Heat pumps can be integrated with a network of distribution pipes to serve multiple buildings, in a configuration referred to as a Thermal Energy Network (TEN). Sponsored by NYSERDA

2022 BuildingEnergy Pro Tour Advisory Committee Meeting

The Pro Tour Advisory Committee met to discuss proposals for the 2022 Pro Tour series, which run from late March-December as a mix of in-person and virtual events. We were pleased to receive 36 proposals for this year's program.  Proposals were evaluated based on qualities including project type, construction type, scale, and geography as we aim to develop a series that highlights examples of a range of buildings across our territory.

Bottom Lines Center Live

Members from across the Bottom Lines network will convene virtually for a day of community building and deep-dives into triple bottom lines topics affecting their businesses. Breakout discussions will be led by group facilitators. This event is free and open to all employees of companies participating in the Bottom Lines program.

Pre-Conference Workshop: The 21st Century Green Building Workforce is Hiding in Plain Sight

Within NESEA’s territory, there is a small army of talented youth from under-served communities who would flourish in the sorts of careers that businesses in our community can offer. At the same time, there are scores of businesses hoping to recruit new and diverse employees to fill the labor shortage gap. This community event will be a first big step towards bringing those groups together.
