Summary
Assist Project Architects with all aspects of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in ArchiCad and provide departmental administrative support.
Specific Responsibilities

BIM Responsibilities:
-
Drafting, from schematic design through construction documentation.

Keep up to date the SMC ArchiCad project template and standard detail library.

Stay current with high-performance building detailing.
-
Create professional-quality 3D renderings.
-
Manage BIM Server.
-
Provide ArchiCad-related tech support.
-
Adhere to department graphic standards and processes, and work with Architecture Manager to improve.

Maintain physical material sample library.
-
Maintain the master outline specification template.

Assist with project startup and closeout, including measuring and documenting existing conditions.

Provide administrative support to Architects as required (such as printing and assembling bid sets).
-
Contribute and be receptive to a collaborative design atmosphere.

Participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental needs and growth.

Use SMC standard information technology including web-based applications, consistent and timely electronic
communications, consistent and proper electronic record keeping, and cell phone protocol.

Undertake professional development, including maintaining necessary certifications, licenses etc.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Associate’s degree in related field (Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field preferred)

Three years of full-time work with ArchiCad BIM
-
Five years of architectural drafting experience

Experience supporting and managing BIM technology

Understanding of building science fundamentals and experience detailing high-performance buildings

Fluency with Excel, Photoshop, and InDesign

Graphic design skills a plus
-
Aptitude and comfort working independently in a team environment, providing ideas and open to feedback
Licensing and Professional Associations
Not applicable. (Note: This position does not require an architecture license or a path to licensure.)
Physical Requirements
Comfortable on jobsites, including attics, knee walls, basements, and crawlspaces
