Who We Hire

steveworks values employees who share our dedication to excellence. We are currently seeking a Lead Carpenter or Lead-Carpenter-in-Training to join our team:

required skills and experience

• excellent carpentry skills
• material takeoffs & ordering materials
• planning and executing material/framing layouts
• effective communication skills with clients, crew, subcontractors and management
• running a crew, scheduling subs, standing inspections
• understanding building science; ability to execute advanced framing and weatherization techniques
• tracking budget and time; reporting to management
• running a safe, clean, efficient job site
• effective problem solving & ability to plan ahead
• taking initiative when needed; showing good judgement
• drawing construction details in Chief Architect or Sketch-up
• at least OSHA 10 and preferably OSHA 40 certification

We will also consider candidates with most of the above skills and the interest and potential to grow to become a Lead.
