BMA seeks an experienced Project Architect to join our growing Adirondack based design firm. We value collaboration, craftsmanship, and integrating our work into the local community and landscape that we call home. A qualified candidate will lead projects and work with the firm principal to develop internal design and project management systems. The position offers an opportunity to grow with our up-and-coming sustainably minded design firm.

Job Description

·       Lead project(s) from schematic design through completion of construction

·       Work with principal to develop firm’s internal design and project management systems

·       Communicate and collaborate with firm principal, administrative staff, contractors, subcontractors, clients, and other team members to achieve internal and external project goals

Experience/ Education

·       M.Arch degree (preferred)

·       Architecture license (not required)

·       5 years in an architecture firm (preferred)

·       Project Architect & Project Manager experience (preferred)

·       Green building, building science, and energy performance experience (interest required/ experience preferred)

Qualifications/ Skills

·       Proficient with BIM modeling software (Archicad preferred)

·       Strong knowledge of Excel

·       Strong written and verbal communication

·       Design ethos that aligns with the culture of the firm

·       Exceptional organization skills, “systems thinker”
