In 2014 Tom and Natalie Treat comissioned a Brightbuilt modular home to be built in Salisbury, Mass. The home was designed to be zero energy, with 8.8 kW of solar panels, super insulation and ductless air source heat pumps. The house is approximately 2500 sq ft with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Before the Treats took occupancy in November 2014, the house became the 2014 Boston Magazine Design Home - staged with beautiful furnishings and artwork, with public tours benefiting Boston Children's Hopsital.
"We wanted to show people that building an energy-efficient home could be beautiful, and help inspire others to investigate green options," said Natalie.
