Menck Factory 1

Menck Windows recently completed a 75,000 square foot advanced production and process technology facility featuring state-of-the-art CNC equipment, and they are opening their doors for an in depth tour geared towards architects and builders.

Menck Windows manufactures custom, finely crafted, energy-efficient windows and doors right here in the Northeast. The new Menck Window production facility uses advanced software and German-built CNC machinery for close tolerance design, assembly, glazing and material handling. Menck USA, Inc. is committed to the best in worker safety and in environmentally sensitive and sustainable business practices.

The tour was led by five people from the Menck team: Michael Pusch, Director of Tech Transfer and R & D, Todd Bachelder, CEO, Russell Chapman, Project Manager, Alan Wall, Director of Sales and Marketing, and John Benjamin III, Director of Manufacturing.

CEUs: 2.5 AIA LU|HSW and 2.5 GBCI CEUs and certificates of participation are available

Member registration: $25 | Non-member registration: $35

Tour Stops:

The tour was broken up into 10 "stations" each of which illuminated a critical aspect of the design and manufacturing process of Menck Windows.

  • Stop 1 – Shipping and Receiving Area:  Natural light for a healthier and pleasant work environment, better team morale and productivity, and superior product quality.

  • Stop 2 – CNC Optimizing Rip and Chop Saws: Machine vision and software intelligence helps us to reduce wood waste and this has both ecological and economic benefits.

  • Stop 3 – CNC S4S Moulder: This machine’s versatility and speed helps to make our production process even more efficient.

  • Stop 4 – Conturex CNC Multiprocessing Center – “Factory in a Box”: This machine, perhaps more than other piece of equipment that we have, enables us to produce precision-crafted, energy-efficient, window, door and curtain wall products at a very competitive price.

  • Stop 5 – Multirex 5 Axis CNC Machine: This machine, in conjunction with our Conturex, enables Menck Windows to provide customers with limitless architectural possibilities.

  • Stop 6 – Clamping and Glue-Up Presses: Precise clamping and gluing makes for long-lasting window and door joints and thus windows and doors with superior life.

  • Stop 7 – Estimating, Drafting and Project Management: Collaboration and timely communication with our customers throughout the entire design and building process ensures a successful project… from start to finish!

  • Stop 8 – Paint or Finish Line: All Menck Windows are finished – painted, stained or clear coated - at the factory.  Finishes are low or no VOC finishes for Menck team health and safety reasons, as well as for customer and environmental reasons.

  • Stop 9 – Cladding and Hardware Installation Area: The European cladding system we are using has both product longevity and building energy benefits.  Our suspended cladding system increases the life of our windows and doors to what we expect will be 50 plus years.

  • Stop 10 – Glazing Area: As with Menck’s cladding and hardware installation area…. lifts, trolleys, conveyors in this area ensure a superior quality product, ergonomic work stations and thus Menck team comfort and safety.
