Project Description: 

The Weinberg Commons project is an ambitious deep energy retrofit of 3 derelict masonry apartment buildings, built in the manner typical to 1960’s, urban, low-income  housing projects.  The mission driven developer realized the benefit of high quality, passive house design and construction and committed to delivering all the attendant benefits to the most vulnerable residents of the S.E. Washington, DC community.

The project has been pre-Certified for PHIUS+ certification and is well under way. By the time of the Build 16 construction will be complete and residents will have occupied the Weinberg Commons' 36 apartments for 6 months .
