New Frameworks, a worker-owned cooperative design and construction company, is hiring a Site Lead to add to our team. We are a busy, fun, egalitarian-yet-structured, creative, kind, and mission-driven group of people working together towards the goal of developing ecological and social climate justice and regeneration practices in the building and design trades. Our ideal candidate has 10+ experience in carpentry, construction, renovation, trades and familiarity and experience with energy & weatherization work, and at least 2 years of experience supervising and managing a team on a job site. the New Frameworks Team

Responsibilities * Site-based:

  • Work closely with our Project Manager to successfully bring projects to completion
  • Deliver projects on budget, on schedule, and to the clients’ satisfaction
  • Demonstrate strong renovation carpentry skills: framing through finishes
  • Exhibit strong building science and green building skills with an interest to grow in this area. (Regular in-house and external training included with this position)
  • Lead and manage a crew effectively and build positive daily culture, providing on-the-job guidance and training as needed to carpenters and apprentices
  • Communicate daily with clients regarding progress, logistics, and other incidental requirements relevant to the execution of the work
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding schedule, budget, and staffing needs/concerns
  • Procure materials, including delivery coordination and ordering, as required to conduct the work
  • Supervise and manages subcontractors on site, including supporting and directing their work, verifying quality and compliance, and alerting the Project Manager of any issues
  • Support crew training and adherence to all State, Federal, and Local codes and quality standards for health & safety and energy performance
  • Administrative:
  • Assist with estimating and planning process for developing projects, as needed
  • Participate regularly in quarterly All-Company Meetings to help steer direction of the company and is an active member of the Build Committee
  • Participate actively in interdependent, team-focused company culture
  • Have an interest in being an owner in a worker-owner cooperative design/build company

  • Facilitate energy efficiency incentive program requirements for clients

Requirements/Prerequisites:

  • 10-15 yrs + experience in construction, renovation, trades and/or energy & weatherization work
  • Has 2+ years experience managing a crew and a desire to improve in this area
  • Reliable transportation and tools required
  • Is a strong team player and wishes to work as a part of a group focused on vision and mission of the company
  • Is able to work well independently, as well as manage a small team of workers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills: in person, via phone, and email
  • Ability to manage fast-paced work environments
  • Respectful presence in a client’s private home
  • Ability to track hours and manage project details on web-based information management systems (training to be provided)

Compensation package: * $26-$29/hour depending on experience, plus paid time off, benefits, education, and profit sharing.

  • Position has a 3 month trial period with review to ensure a good mutual fit.
  • After the 3 month trial, vision and dental insurance provided, 100% paid by company.
  • Profit sharing at the end of the fiscal year. Amount is based on ownership percentage.
  • Workers Compensation coverage (standard).
  • AFLAC coverage (some paid by company, some elective/additive on company plan, deducted from member’s paycheck as desired)
  • 80 hrs paid time off.
  • $200/year pp for personal tool or tech allowance.
