About BuildingEnergy

BuildingEnergy is the most established and cross-disciplinary renewable energy and high-performance building conference and tradeshow in the northeastern United States.

The BuildingEnergy conference is the flagship program of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA). NESEA members drive the content from the questions, challenges, and solutions they encounter in their professional work.

BuildingEnergy is a place to shape a vision of a sustainable built environment and to do the whole systems thinking it will take to get there. No greenwashing, no sales pitches.

BuildingEnergy presents hundreds of hours of educational sessions and workshops over three days. On the main days of the conference, we offer over fifty 90-minute sessions featuring one or more professional speakers. We also offer full- and half-day workshops on Tuesday led by master practitioners working in the Northeast and beyond. In the past we’ve aligned our session content with “tracks,” but we’ve done away with the rigid structure in favor of highlighting a smaller number of areas of focus, supplemented by a diverse range of keywords to help you find what you need to advance your practice.

Curated by you

All of the content at BuildingEnergy is organized by NESEA members. Proposals are submitted to the conference from the greater NESEA community and beyond, but must be approved by a number of select committees composed of experienced NESEA member practitioners.

Rigor guaranteed

NESEA requires an extensive array of actual performance data for projects featured in BuildingEnergy presentations. How do we know we’re promoting sustainability if we don’t keep track? Have a look at our case study guidelines here. All sessions are also registered for CEUs with AIA, BPI, and GBCI.

We are thinkers who want to think and share together. Old hands, emerging professionals, and students.
